About

The rules have changed for drivers education in Massachusetts regarding junior operators. As of September, the RMV requires all parents and guardians of operators under the age of eighteen to take a two hour class with the drivers education student. This new mandate will actually increase the junior operators actual driving instruction behind the wheel, and the added complexity of having their parent present with the instructor during the driving lesson also adds to their experience and skills on the road. This new rule requiring parents to take an active role may seem inconvenient but the outcome is quite positive. Parents, while shadowing their child's lesson, often get the opportunity to get a refreshing look at driver education and often times takes the tips given by the instructor back to their teachings when their child is driving with them.
